WACO, Texas (August #, 2012) – Neighborly, formerly Dwyer Group, has been named the recipient of The Community Commitment Award at the 23rd Annual Texas Family Business of the Year Awards. The Texas Family Business of the Year Awards recognizes outstanding firms from across Texas whose families demonstrate a commitment to each other, employees, communities and industries. Baylor University’s Institute for Family Business will honor the 2012 Texas Family Business of the Year winners and finalists at an awards banquet on November 8 at Baylor University’s Bill Daniel Student Center.
Selected by a group of judges with expertise in the fields of family business, family business consulting and teaching family business, Neighborly earned The Community Commitment Award for successfully demonstrating a commitment to improving their community. “With so many incredible finalists making a difference in their communities, it is a true honor to be recognized as The Community Commitment Award winner,” said Dina Dwyer-Owens, chairwoman and CEO of The Dwyer Group. “Our team at Neighborly views this award as a reminder to always live our Code of Values and support our community.”
Texas Family Business of the Year nominees are judged on family involvement, community and industry involvement and business success and succession. Winners are then chosen in three general categories – large (more than 151 employees), medium (51-150 employees) and small (50 or fewer employees).
